It refers to the same synthetic
wool that is environmental friendly and is preferred by vegans. It is made out of recycled
materials. The ground material for polyester is recycled bottles. It has almost all
properties of wool minus the heavy weight.
Fleece
blankets are very durable, if taken care of. Fleece fibre is lightweight and along with
the durability factor and its insulating properties makes the best choice for picnics or
other outdoor activities.
Due to the low production
costs, fleece blankets are accessible in price as well. This
might also be the reason for more and more bed accessories made of fleece material these days
(pillows, comforters). Usually the best argument in selling fleece blankets is feeling them.
Once you discover the combination between lightweight, durability, water non absorbing,
softness and still good price you will clearly go home with one of your
own.
Compared to other materials like wool or cotton,
fleece has not only a better price but it is also easier to store as it is thinner and
lighter in weight. The washing will be made using the same system as for wool blankets; only
cold water will be used, maximum 30 degrees, and if we use the wash machine we must select
the delicate program.
There are also some disadvantages to this
material. One of them is that it is highly flammable so be careful with that blanket around
the barbecue fire. Also is good to know that it is not windproof; this is the reason why some
of the manufacturers use plastic lamination on one side, in case you were wondering. It gets
easily charged statically and therefore it attracts all the dust, dirt and pet’s hair like a
magnet.
The amazing properties of fleece
blankets are given by their original fibres and that is what makes them the best blankets on
the market, still some manufacturers choose to combine cotton or wool; but this is not for
better quality, it is rather for a more natural aspect.
