 The chillow pillow is not an ordinary pillow; some people don’t
consider it a pillow at all, it is more like a pillow substitute for your hot
nights.
It is rectangular shaped and it is made out of hypo allergenic and
non allergic material, one side is made out of flannel while the other one is
plastic.
The reason why some people can’t think of the chillow like an
ordinary pillow is that it is flat while the ordinary pillows are suppose to be soft and
fluffy.
The miracle about this pillow is that it
keeps you cold during warm nights without using any source of electricity or
freezing.
If you no longer want to wake up in the middle of the night
and start flipping your pillow in order to find the right spot to sleep on, you just need to get
the chillow and you are guaranteed comforting and relaxing sleep.
The chillow has a thermo- regulating mechanism that prevents
spreading the heat between your body and the pillow. It is also good for other parts of your body
in case of injuries, burns or simply if you want to relax your feet after a long day standing. This
system works miracles for headaches as well.
Before using it you need to follow some simple instructions.
These steps you only have to do once, before you first use the chillow. First you have to activate
the cooling material and this means you have to open the valve and pour two quarts of warm water.
You will probably have to repeat this move after a while, when the water dries out, but this will
be after a long period of time. Every now and then you will also need to “burp” it so that the
cooling material stays in contact with the outside one.
This pillow is pretty large. Its dimensions
are 21" x
13.75" x 5/8" and it weights almost 5 pound when filled with water. It is much heavier than
your regular pillow. This can also be a disadvantage because it is not going to be possible
for you to move it while you sleep and if you attach it to your pillow you won’t be able to
move them both. What you need to do in this situation is to move your head instead of the
pillow in order for you to find a cooler space, and you will definitely find it since it is
large enough.
Like we have already mentioned the pillow can
also be used for different burns and rashes but we must know that it can not be used in
places where ice is required. It is a safe device since no electricity is involved and also
because it is not that cold to damage to the nerves.
In order to cool it you can use the fan, the
air conditioning system or you can even leave it in the refrigerator for half
and hour before using it. Whatever you do, never put it in the freezer, you will completely damage
it.
The reason why it is not recommended to
children is because it is heavy and in case any accidents occur children will not have enough
power to lift it and may end up trapped under it. It is not only children that are forbidden
to use it but also other persons that will have trouble lifting it. However you may let your
child use it under your careful surveillance.
You can use your chillow
with or without a pillow case. Some people complained about the smell of plastic and they
started using pillow cases. The truth is that in this situation its cooling function will be
diminished.
Now you have chillow in dog version as well.
This one is larger, rougher and more expensive but still serves the same
purposes.
